Under the Sea: Submarines

First, students looked at shapes that form a sub. Oval and Semi-circle.

Directions:

To create the oval shape of the sub we used small paper plates and traced around the plate to create the front and backend of the submarine. Next we created the top and bottom by connecting the curved edges with 2 straight line. Add a semi-circle top out of scrap paper. Make sure to add a small line of glue to hold the top shape in place.

Design your submarine. Add decorations on the colorful subs. Consider using painted paper strips or colorful construction paper strips to add to the sub. TIP: I suggested cutting the strips and making patterns out of them. Another fun way to decorate is with oil pastels.
Lastly, Add portholes or some cardboard strips with holes and of course the periscope!

About Me

Hello

Hello! Do you love to paint? I sure do! Tempera Paint, Watercolor Paint, Paint sticks! I love helping kids create art, seeing them start with a blank paper, exploring with art materials, creating beautiful mini masterpieces. I encourage my students to become fine art explorers, learning about various artists and cultures. In my spare time I love creating fun, bright art inspired by nature. I also enjoy gardening and collecting vintage fisher-price toys. Thanks for visiting!
