Art Scout Camp- Bowling Green, Ohio

I just wrapped up a fun, creative weekend with my art teacher buddies as we held an Art Camp for teachers at Bowling Green State University. YES. You heard me right. Art camp for teachers. The four of us, Cassie Stephens, Jennifer Alvarado, Ginger Pacer and myself became fast friends thru blogging. We put our love of teaching and creating art together to form the Art Scouts, Professional Development for Art Teachers.

Well, through email and lots of phone chats we prepared what we wanted in a professional development workshop. Lots of hands on workshops, tons of swag, fun team-building projects (not the ones that make you feel uncomfortable but the ones that bring emotional tears and enjoyment to your eyes) good food and making great friends. Here is a sneak peak of one of our break out sessions!

As art specialists, we are tiny islands in our schools. This workshop was a perfect place to create with like minded people while honing our skills on different media.

I know my heart was over filled with love and laughter and my mind with knowledge and gathering ideas from all who attended.  Our next workshop is outside of Nashville, Tennessee  (Franklin to be exact), and I can not wait to meet new scouts and share the Art Scouts Oath with them.
To the Ohio Art Scouts and terrific sponsors, thank you for making out first Art Scouts Workshop so inspirational and completely over the top awesome!
